Frequently asked questions
Is Miel Emma honey raw and unprocessed?
Yes. Our honeys areraw and unpasteurized, which means they aren’t heated to high temperatures or ultra‑filtered. This helps preserve their natural enzymes, aromas, and floral notes.
You may notice slight variations in colour or texture from batch to batch that’s normal for real, minimally processed honey and reflects the changing flowers the bees visit.
How should I store my Miel Emma honey?
Store your honey in a tightly sealed container at room temperature, ideally in a cupboard or pantry away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
There’s no need to refrigerate honey cold temperatures actually make it crystallize faster and can change the texture.
What if my honey crystallizes has it gone bad?
No. Crystallization is completely natural and a sign of genuine honey, not spoilage. Over time, the glucose in honey forms crystals, especially in cooler conditions.
To make it liquid again, place the sealed jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water and stir gently until the crystals dissolve; avoid microwaving or overheating, which can damage flavour and enzymes.
How long does Miel Emma honey last?
When stored correctly sealed, at room temperature, and away from moisture honey can stay safe and delicious for years. Its naturally low water content and acidity make it very stable. If you ever notice fermentation smells, foam, or visible mold, discard the jar, but this is rare when honey is kept in a dry, airtight container.
Can I give this honey to children?
Miel Emma honey is suitable for older children and adults, but never give honey to babies under 12 months because of the risk of infant botulism, which applies to all honeys.
For toddlers and older children, use honey in moderation as a natural sweetener in tea, yogurt, or breakfast recipes.
